Do you work directly with builders and general contractors?
Yes. Revildor works with owners, builders, and general contractors on new roofing projects. Early discussion should establish the plan set, roofing system, schedule, trade responsibilities, and documentation needed for the project.
Can you quote a roof from plans?
Plans can support an initial scope and estimate when they contain the relevant dimensions and details. Material selections, responsibilities, access, and site conditions still need confirmation. Identify any unfinished decisions so the proposal’s assumptions remain clear.
What does roof dry-in mean?
Dry-in is a construction stage involving the specified underlayment and related temporary weather-protection details. It is not the same as a completed roof. Product exposure limits and unfinished transitions need to be considered in the construction schedule.
Can an addition use a different material from the main roof?
Yes, when the design and selected systems support that approach. An addition may have a lower slope requiring a different assembly. The tie-in, flashing, and drainage between the new and existing roof need a coordinated detail.
When should roof penetrations be planned?
As early as practical. Plumbing vents, HVAC equipment, skylights, and other openings affect layout and flashing. Coordinating locations and responsibilities before installation can reduce later changes that disturb completed roof work.
Can we select tile after the framing is designed?
The proposed tile system must be checked against the structural design and other project requirements. Do not assume a material change is cosmetic. Resolve loading, roof geometry, and attachment requirements before committing to the new selection.
Who handles permits and inspections?
The project agreement should clearly assign those responsibilities between the owner, builder, general contractor, and roofing contractor. Requirements depend on the project and local authority. Confirm the process and documentation before work starts.
What should be included in roofing closeout?
Discuss the expected completion review, product information, applicable warranty documents, relevant inspection records, and care instructions. The exact package should follow the project agreement and any builder or owner documentation requirements.
